I Wanna Be On TV

For my husband’s 28th birthday, we scored floor tickets to WWE’s Survivor Series.  Having only been to Smackdown before, we were both beyond thrilled to be able to go to a Pay Per View event and an event that is the second longest running PPV in the history of the WWE, second only to Wrestlemania.  As soon as we received our tickets in the mail, I decided I was going on a mission to get my sign on TV.  There are some seriously crappy signs that get on the air, possibly in part because many fans like the ones below wait until they’re in the parking lot to put ink to paper:

The crazy side of me wanted to dive in right away and make a sign immediately, but I managed to have some self-control and waited until the week prior.  Self control and the fact that none of the matches were set in stone until then.  My idea was to make a Team Foley sign in support of the face team for the traditional Survivor Series match.  Each letter of “TEAM” represented a different member (Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan and Kane of Team Hell No, Randy Orton, and The Miz), with “FOLEY” obviously representing the hard-core legend:

Nearly eight hours of my life spent on this sign.  That’s either dedication or lunacy, but either way, it was done and I was pretty pleased with the results.  It paid off before we even entered the arena, with two people stopping me outside to take photos of it and two people inside asking as well.  When the match was set to begin, this damn thing went in the air and stayed there until the final wrestler had entered the ring and my arms were burning from holding them up.  Thankfully, it paid off!  I got this thing on camera!

I’m a midget, so you can only tell it’s me by the tattoo (and the fact that it’s my sign) but the goal wasn’t ME on TV, it was the sign.  They zoomed in on it and stayed there for a few seconds.  Later on, after the unfortunate fall of Team Foley, you can see me again behind a very sad Randy Orton:

Double win!  I know it’s a small accomplishment, if you can even call it one, but it was awesome nonetheless.  I had my little goal in sight and I reached it.  Something I did is on that PPV tape forever, will hopefully also be on the DVD, and is on a few random fan’s cameras.  Not too shabby.

*Pats self on back*

I DID IT!!!!!

  1. lol..you have glasses on..hahahahaha

wrestling shows of the wwe variety I’ve been to in the past local radio stations were outside encouraging everyone to make very ghetto fab last minute signs….that seems to be part of their m.o. and it’s so stupid….I spent about 13 minutes making a few signs for one raw event…I had a very very ghetto fab ‘crazy for mickie’ sign or something to that effect ((when mickie james was in wwe her gimmick was kind of what aj lee is doing now….but she was obsessed with trish stratus….and that storyline, like most wwe storylines, ultimately went absolutely no where..but yeah anywho…I’m hella lazy when it comes to signs because well I go to watch the morons in the crowd and the performers in the ring..haha

BUt that being said…you’re not to entirely crazy….I took pictures of the audience I was in on americas got talent because I could just barely make myself out :D…..the first monday night raw taping I went to I was able to find myself in the crowd…BUT I was pretty much a blur because this was before high def television….and since it was before digital cameras were everywhere I didn’t get a screen capture of that..but..oh well i was on screen for exactly less than a flicker..lol…

On those notes however…me and my cousin went to see the supercross in seattle and were on screen somewhere around 2.5 seconds..hahaha….it was a crowd shot of our section..but we were totally right there if you happened to be watching and were looking for us….but I’m also much more observant than most people so …it’s possible unless someone knew EXACTLY where we were and I was there to point it out they may have missed us…

I should be able to be heard on the no way out that was in seattle because I my seat was about 3 feet away from the main camera….but I can’t seem to make myself out..lol…if I had been sitting on the other side of the arena I would have gotten plenty of on camera time as i was essentially right in the line of the camera but just on the wrong side. It’s also possible I might be able to be found on the smackdown episode I went to..but I don’t know if i even watched it on tv to look for myself 😀

I like behind to the left of you is mrs goth woman..and to the right….lt dangle from reno 911..lols

anywho..congrats on getting tv time for your sign 🙂

    • Hahahaha it sucks that giant head is in the shot, but I got it on screen, so I’m happy 🙂

      • the giant head I assume you mean in the lower right? that looks like the embodiment of one of the best crazies that liked to argue with me on your myspace…ha (okay so maybe not all that much…not sure if you know who even I refer of..but anywho)

        • ooohhhh which crazy? MySpace seems so long ago.

          • the crazy you actually met…the friendly neighborhood sociopath ((or was it psychopath?))

the person I suggested would tie you up and throw you in their trunk if you went to see a movie with..haha (i may or may not have actually said that…you know me..)

still not tracking I think I remember his name but…don’t want to speak it and incur his wrath…although there was too that person whose name I shall not speak…but I’m not talking about him….haha…fuckin juggalos…

            😀

(((((it’s a terrible thing sometimes to have the memory I do….on that note…ahhh myspace……I don’t really need to say more than that…but that’s also been blogged about on this here wordpress I think..lol…chaoooos ftw)))))

      • It’s really weird seeing someone referring to shit you posted online over five years ago.

        • YOU are the mystery man? I barely remember this! The details are lost to me, but I do have a vague idea of it now. I don’t think it would have clicked if you hadn’t said something. I went down a list of people I don’t talk to anymore who have the IQ of dirt, thinking it had to be one of them, and only one name (Jimmy) made any sense. And I was wrong. :-\

      • Eh, well, I’m a completely different person today compared to who I was back then, maybe that’s what threw you off?

I mean, my politics are almost a complete 180 from what they were back then, I’ve lost over a hundred pounds since Jah last saw a picture of me (not sure if my old Myspace has a recent picture or not) and then there is the whole cancer thing that made me about a decade older in the space of a few months.

      • Hiss. 🙂

Was that merely 5 years ago? Long/short time I guess.

That’s all I got. But cancer; yikes man.

        (we are who we are)

  2. doh sorry about the double post it said error the first time..you can delete one of them..lol…or both..hahahaha..and this to boot..or keep it…
